(Assistent) Manager Cargo Office

In this role, your challenge is to help further optimize the department together with the Cargo Office Manager. As the (Assistant) Cargo Office Manager, you will share responsibility for managing the Cargo Office team and have the ambition to grow into the role of Manager. Together with the Manager, you ensure that objectives are met by analyzing, designing, and implementing improvement initiatives that make the department more customer-focused, efficient, and accurate. You will foster a work environment in which compliance, safety, and continuous improvement are key. This position involves both operational and process-related challenges.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinate and manage administrative and logistical processes within the Cargo Office;
  • Lead and support team members, with a focus on improving knowledge and performance;
  • Act as the point of contact for employees, customers, and internal departments;
  • Improve and optimize workflows, systems, and customer communication;
  • Ensure accurate processing of transport documentation (such as airway bills) in internal and external systems;
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure that files are complete, correct, and handled on time;
  • Help oversee the handling of dangerous goods in accordance with applicable procedures and regulations;
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, certifications, and quality standards;
  • Report to the Cargo Office Manager on progress, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.

 

Your profile:

 

  • Minimum MBO-HBO (secondary vocational to bachelor's) level of education and thinking;
  • Good command of Dutch and English language, spoken and written;
  • Potential to grow into a more senior management role within operations;
  • Knowledge and experience in continuous improvement and change management;
  • Experience in management or leadership within a technical or operational environment is a plus;
  • Excellent communication skills, result-oriented and quality-driven;
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to monitor progress effectively..
