Freight Builder

At Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), part of the SATS Group, more than 50,000 colleagues work across the globe. We also play a major role at Schiphol Airport, where we ensure that goods reach their destination safely, quickly, and efficiently. We unload trucks, build freight onto aircraft pallets or into containers, and prepare everything for transport. Every day, the world literally passes through our doors.

As our company continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Freight Builder. Would you like to be part of a close-knit team at one of Europe’s busiest airports? Then this is your opportunity!

What will you do?

As a Freight Builder, you will be responsible for safely and properly building freight pallets for various aircraft types. You’ll work with all types of cargo – from standard loads to exceptional shipments such as outsized or centerload cargo. While building, you continuously coordinate with colleagues and customers to ensure everything proceeds according to the correct procedures. You’ll also keep accurate records so the Cargo Office can distribute the shipment further.

What do you bring?

We are looking for someone with 3 to 5 years of experience in building aircraft pallets. You speak both Dutch and English, and are able to work independently, but also thrive in a team environment. You are professional, precise, and understand the standards airlines require for cargo build-up. You also have insight into how loading affects an aircraft’s weight and balance. A driver’s license and forklift certificate are required for this role.

You’ll be working in a 24-hour rotating shift schedule, including weekends. The roster is shared two months in advance, so you always know where you stand and can balance work and private life well. One of the perks of this schedule is that you're sometimes off during quieter times – perfect for running errands, planning appointments, or simply taking time for yourself. Shift times are: 06:00–14:30, 14:00–22:30, or 22:00–06:30.

What do we offer you?

  • Monthly salary between €2,835 and €3,736
  • Shift allowances for evening, night, and weekend shifts – with an average 22% irregularity allowance (ORT) based on a standard schedule
  • Holiday pay and vacation accrual
  • Travel expense reimbursement and on-site parking
  • Pension scheme, with the majority paid by us
  • Career advancement opportunities and training via our in-house training center
  • A workplace where you’ll always have aircraft in sight
  • Easily accessible by public transport – day and night
