At Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), part of the SATS Group, more than 50,000 colleagues work worldwide. At Schiphol, we play a key role in international air cargo. Day and night, we make sure goods reach their destinations safely, quickly and efficiently. Our organization is growing fast, and that requires strong teams as well as strong leadership.
For our Planning department, we are looking for a Team Lead Planning who knows how to motivate people, help them grow and, together with the team, keep the operation running smoothly.
What will you do?
As Team Lead Planning, you manage a team of around five workforce planners on a daily basis. You are visible on the work floor, work largely on site and know exactly what is going on within both the team and the operation. You coach, guide and develop your employees and help them get the best out of themselves. You recognize talent, give feedback and put people in their strength.
In addition to your role as team lead, you also take part in the operational planning when needed. You keep an overview of the rosters, think along with complex planning challenges and step in during peak moments or operational disruptions. Because we work with a 24-hour roster, no day is the same and this role requires flexibility and the ability to switch quickly.
You look beyond tomorrow. You are responsible for strategic workforce planning and translate expected cargo volumes, flight schedules and operational needs into a realistic staffing plan for the short and medium term. You work with forecasting, look at trends in inflow, attrition and absenteeism, and take factors such as seasonal peaks, sickness rates and leave patterns into account.
You analyze data from planning and operations to identify bottlenecks and make well-founded decisions. Based on this, you come up with improvement proposals to make planning smarter, more efficient and future-proof. You safeguard the quality and continuity of workforce planning and ensure compliance with laws and regulations such as working hours legislation, rest times and age-related rules.
In addition, you coordinate structurally with other departments such as Operations, HR and Management. You act as the connecting link between team, operation and strategy and make sure planning does not only react to incoming demand, but also proactively anticipates it.
What do you bring?
You have an MBO+/HBO working and thinking level. You have experience with workforce planning in a dynamic logistics environment. You have proven experience in managing, coaching or guiding employees. You have affinity with data, forecasting and strategic workforce planning. You have experience working with attrition rates, absenteeism, peak workloads and capacity challenges. You are decisive, stress-resistant and able to maintain overview in a 24-hour operation. You have strong communication skills in both Dutch and English. You have strong analytical skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
What do we offer you?
We offer a salary depending on education and experience. You receive a travel allowance and parking facilities. You will have flexible start times. This is a position for 32 to 38 hours per week. You will be part of a pension scheme, with the majority paid by WFS. You will have growth opportunities and training in our own training center. You will work at a location where aircraft are always in sight.
