A flight is delayed, a shipment needs to arrive on time for inspection, and a driver is waiting for their next assignment. Which run takes priority? As a Transport Planner at Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), you keep track of every run. You coordinate the drivers and make sure everyone knows what to do, even when the schedule changes.
WFS is part of the SATS Group and employs more than 46,500 people worldwide. At Schiphol, we receive, handle and transport air cargo bound for destinations around the world.
What will you do?
You turn transport requests into a workable schedule, taking flight times, handovers, inspections and customer commitments into account. You plan each run based on how long it will take and which drivers and vehicles are available. If a delay looks likely, you adjust the schedule and let everyone involved know.
Your responsibilities include:
- Assigning runs to transport and mail drivers and tracking their progress.
- Coordinating the schedule with internal teams, customers and ground handlers on the apron.
- Keeping flight schedules up to date and communicating changes to the people involved.
- Processing courier shipments for JETPAK and Time Matters and arranging their transport.
- Maintaining the internal mail system and updating transport records and checklists before archiving them.
- Reporting and recording damage and other irregularities.
What do you bring?
- You can set priorities and stay calm when several runs need your attention at once.
- You work independently and accurately, spot potential delays early and find practical solutions.
- You are confident using Excel, Word and Outlook.
- You communicate clearly and professionally with drivers, colleagues and customers. You have an excellent command of spoken and written Dutch and English.
What do we offer?
- A supportive team and an informal, friendly working atmosphere.
- A competitive salary and an excellent benefits package.
- A lively workplace where colleagues know each other well.
- A high degree of responsibility for day-to-day transport operations.
